Strathcona County RCMP on scene of two-vehicle collision on Highway 21 - UPDATE

 

Strathcona County, Alta. – On Oct. 14, 2020 at approximately 3:15 p.m., Strathcona County RCMP responded to a two vehicle collision on Highway 21 and Township Road 534.

Preliminary investigation revealed a vehicle was crossing Highway 21 westbound on Township Road 534 when it was struck by a gravel truck travelling southbound on Highway 21.

The 36-year-old male passenger of the vehicle from Edmonton was pronounced deceased at the scene. The 73-year-old driver of the vehicle from Edmonton was transported to hospital but succumbed to his injures. The male driver of the gravel truck was not injured.

Strathcona County RCMP along with a RCMP Collision analyst continue to investigate. The name of the deceased will not be released and no further updates are anticipated.

Strathcona County RCMP on scene of two-vehicle collision on Highway 21

 

Sherwood Park, Alta. – Strathcona County RCMP and Strathcona County Emergency Services are currently on scene of a two-vehicle collision on Highway 21 near Township Road 534.

Highway 21 southbound near Township Road 534 is down to one lane. RCMP are asking motorists to avoid the area and choose alternate routes if possible.
