Strathcona County RCMP on scene of a suspicious death – Highway 21

 

Strathcona County, Alta. –  The RCMP’s Major Crime Unit (MCU) and Strathcona County RCMP Detachment are investigating the suspicious death of an adult male.

On Dec. 17, 2020 at approximately 11:40 p.m., Strathcona County RCMP responded to a call from a passerby who observed an injured male near a vehicle on Highway 21.

MCU have now assumed carriage of the police investigation which is in its preliminary stages.

Southbound lanes on Highway 21 between Township Road 540 and 534 are expected to be re-routed until later this afternoon.

No further information is available at this time. An updated media release will be provided when more information becomes available.

Strathcona RCMP on scene of incident – Hwy 21

 

Strathcona, Alta. – RCMP members are currently on scene of an active investigation on Highway 21 between Township Road 540 and 534. The south bound lanes will be closed for the investigation and are not expected to be open until later today.

 

There is no concern for safety.
