Strathcona County RCMP locates stolen vehicle tracked by GPS

Strathcona County, Alta. – On Feb. 3, 2023 at 8:12 a.m., Strathcona County RCMP were contacted by the Edmonton Police Service regarding a stolen vehicle from Edmonton, Alta. The 2021 GMC Sierra was stolen earlier in the morning and was tracked by GPS to Sherwood Park, Alta.

RCMP members along with Strathcona County’s General Investigation Section’s, Property Crime Unit members located the vehicle and followed it into the Superstore parking lot on Baseline Road. Two suspects were arrested with the assistance of the RCMP Police Dog Service without incident. Police determined the two suspects also had arrest warrants out of Edmonton, Alta.

Jeffrey Lukala (41) and Jessica Gehman (31) both residents of Edmonton, Alta. were arrested and charged with:

  • Mischief under $5000
  • Possession of stolen property Over $5000

Lukala and Gehman were both remanded following a Judicial Interim Release Hearing and are scheduled to appear in Sherwood Park Provincial Court on Feb. 8, 2023.
