Strathcona County RCMP Host Bike Rodeo And Safety Fair

Strathcona County, Alta. – On Saturday, May 14, 2022 the Strathcona County RCMP, as part of National Police Week, will be hosting a kids bicycle rodeo and safety fair at the Strathcona Athletic Park located at 1011 Clover Bar Road in Sherwood Park. The free event will run from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. and will include:

  • Demonstrations of Specialized RCMP Units including, RCMP Police Dog Service, RCMP Recruitment and the RCMP Helicopter
  • Bike obstacle course
  • Fun family activities
  • Free BBQ hosted by Enbridge (while supplies last)
  • Retro police vehicle display
  • Displays and info booths from community safety partners

Two police dog demonstrations will take place, one at 12 p.m. and the other at 2 p.m. on the track and field space (bleachers available for seating).  

Kids are invited to bring their bikes and participate in the Bike Rodeo! The Bike Rodeo portion of the event will take place in the outdoor rink and will include a bicycle inspection station administered by Mud Sweat and Gears, helmet fitting by Giro Helmets and a skills course for children administered by the RCMP members.
