Strathcona County RCMP General Investigation Section lay break and enter charge
Strathcona County, Alta. - On December 18, 2024, Strathcona County RCMP received a complaint that the Gem Gallerie Jewellers had been broken into, and approximately $20,000 worth of jewellery was stolen. The Strathcona County RCMP General Investigation Unit (GIS) took carriage of the investigation.
Through investigation, the suspect was identified and arrested.
Jesse Welsh (39), a resident of Edmonton, was charged with break and enter with intent to commit an offence.
Following a judicial interim release hearing, Welsh was remanded in custody and is scheduled to appear in the Alberta Court of Justice in Sherwood Park on June 11, 2025.
