Strathcona County RCMP General Investigation Section charge suspect with fraud

Strathcona County, Alta. – On July 26, 2024, Strathcona County RCMP received a complaint of a fraud where funds from Skip the Dishes for a local business were diverted to another account, through online account hacking. The Strathcona County RCMP General Investigation Unit (GIS) took carriage of the investigation.

Through investigation, the suspect was identified and an arrest warrant was sought.

On May 20, 2025, the suspect turned themselves into the Strathcona County RCMP Detachment on the outstanding warrant.

Zahis Shah (49), a resident from Ontario, has been charged with fraud.

Shah was released from custody and is scheduled to appear in the Alberta Court of Justice in Sherwood Park on June 4, 2025.
