Strathcona County RCMP and Emergency Services responded to sudden death

Sherwood Park, Alta. - On Nov. 23, 2021, at 2:49 p.m., Strathcona County RCMP responded to a 911 call from Emergency Services to assist with an unconscious male in the area of Sherwood Drive and the 2000 block in Sherwood Park, Alta.

Strathcona County RCMP immediately attended the scene. The 29-year-old male was treated by Emergency Services on scene and then transported by ground ambulance to a local hospital. Police attended the hospital with the male and was advised by EMS after some time that the male was pronounced deceased.

Strathcona County RCMP were able to determine a tentative identity of the 29-year-old male; however, a positive identification was confirmed on Nov. 26, 2021 and police were able to complete notification to the next of kin. 

An autopsy was completed at the Edmonton Office of the Chief Medical Examiner. Pending final autopsy and toxicology reports, preliminary indication is that no foul play is suspected in relation to the male’s death.

The name of the deceased will not be released and no further information will be released at this time.
