Strathcona RCMP arrest female for trafficking stolen property

 

Strathcona County, Alta. – On Aug. 29, 2023, police responded to a break and enter at a business in Vermilion, Alta., where several generators were stolen. On Aug. 31, 2023, one of the stolen generators was listed for sale on Facebook Marketplace in Strathcona County Alta. On Sept. 6, 2023, the Strathcona County RCMP Property Crime Unit, with the assistance of the Crime Reduction Unit, arrested a female attempting to sell the stolen generator valued at approximately $3000.

 

Kristyn Phillips (33), a resident of Edmonton has been charged with:

 

  • Trafficking stolen property under $5000

 

Kristyn Phillips was released from custody and is scheduled to appear in Sherwood Park Provincial Court on Oct. 11, 2023.

 

Police believe that other generators may have been sold to unsuspecting buyers. If your serial number has been removed or you believe you have unwittingly purchased a stolen article, please contact your local police or the nearest RCMP detachment to confirm the information and ask for assistance.
