Strathcona County RCMP respond to a collision involving a pedestrian – Update

Sherwood Park, Alta. - Strathcona County RCMP are issuing an update to the 2024 collision involving two pedestrians and a single vehicle on Georgian Way in Sherwood Park.

As a result of the investigation, on July 2, 2025, RCMP have charged Ronald Charles Wilkinson (67), a resident of Sherwood Park with:

  • Dangerous operation of motor vehicle causing bodily harm (x2)
  • Criminal negligence causing bodily harm (x2)

Wilkinson is scheduled to appear in the Alberta Court of Justice in Sherwood Park on Aug. 6, 2025.

Strathcona County RCMP respond to a collision involving a pedestrian

Sherwood Park, Alta. – On Aug. 13, 2024, Strathcona County RCMP responded to a serious injury collision involving two pedestrians on Georgian Way in Sherwood Park.

According to the initial investigation, a vehicle travelling north on Georgian Way collided with two pedestrians and a dog on the sidewalk. The vehicle then came to a stop on a residential lawn. A 36-year-old male and an 11-month-old child were transported to the hospital with serious injuries, while their dog received minor injuries and was taken to the vet. The male driver of the vehicle did not sustain any injuries.

RCMP do not believe that speed and alcohol were factors in the incident. The investigation is ongoing; further updates will be provided if more information becomes available.
