Strathcona County RCMP investigates serious collision on Highway 216

Strathcona County, Alta. – On Sept. 1, 2021 at 8:46 p.m., Strathcona County RCMP and Emergency Services responded to a head on collision on the Highway 14 eastbound on ramp from Highway 216.

It is believed a vehicle was driving the wrong way on the Highway 14 on ramp when the head on collision occurred.

One male and two females from one vehicle were transported to hospital by ground ambulance. The male and one female remain in hospital with serious injuries.

The 32-year old female driver and lone occupant of the second vehicle from Edmonton, Alta. was arrested by police for impaired driving. The female sustained minor injuries and was transported to hospital by ambulance. 

The RCMP Collision Analyst attended to assist in the investigation.
