Strathcona County RCMP investigate firearms offence and arrest male suspect

 

Strathcona County, Alta. – Strathcona County RCMP have arrested a male suspect that allegedly pointed a firearm at a vehicle, following a lengthy investigation.

 

On Feb. 23, 2021 at 11:38 p.m., Strathcona County RCMP responded to a report of a male pointing a firearm at another motorist while driving on Highway 216 near Sherwood Park, Alta. Police attended the area and patrols were conducted but the suspect was not located. 

 

Police continued to investigate the incident and a composite sketch was completed with the victim. The suspect was identified and on Oct. 21, 2021, Strathcona County RCMP along with the assistance of the Beaumont RCMP located and arrested the suspect. Police conducted a search warrant at a residence in Beaumont and seized a black BB handgun believed to be used in the offence, ammunition, drug paraphernalia and a large amount of Canadian Currency.

 

Tyrone Atsriku-Suess (20) of Beaumont, Alta has been charged with:

 

  • Pointing a firearm
  • Fail to comply (x2)
  • Possession of stolen property

 

Atsriku-Suess was remanded into custody and is scheduled to appear in Sherwood Park Provincial Court on Oct. 27, 2021.
