Strathcona County RCMP General Investigation Section investigate sudden death

 

Strathcona County, Alta. – Strathcona County RCMP General Investigation Section (GIS) is currently investigating the sudden death of a male located following a vehicle fire.

On March 29, 2022 at 1:17 p.m., Strathcona County RCMP responded to a 911 call of vehicle fire on Range Road 224 just south of Wye Road in Sherwood Park, Alta. RCMP and Strathcona County Emergency Services attended and observed a vehicle fully engulfed in flames. Upon extinguishing the fire, police located human remains inside the vehicle.

Police have tentatively identified the male and next-of-kin has been notified.

The circumstances surrounding the 38-year-old male’s death remains under investigation by Strathcona County RCMP General Investigation Section (GIS). An autopsy has been ordered by the office of the Chief Medical Examiner.

An update will be provided when further details can be released.
