Strathcona County RCMP charge two with drug trafficking
Sherwood Park, Alta. – In May of 2024, members of the Strathcona County RCMP Drug Unit started an investigation into an individual selling drugs in Sherwood Park and Edmonton.
As a result of the investigation, on Oct. 8, 2024, Strathcona County RCMP Drug Unit arrested two individuals.
Mason Joseph Lalonde (32), a resident of Edmonton, was arrested on a Canada Wide Warrant. Lalonde has been charged with the following:
- Trafficking a controlled substance – Fentanyl
- Trafficking a controlled substance - Heroin
- Trafficking a controlled substance – Methamphetamine
- Possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000.
A 16-year-old youth, a resident of Edmonton, has been charged with the following:
- Trafficking a controlled substance – Methamphetamine
- Possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000.
Lalonde and the youth were both released from custody. Lalonde is scheduled to appear in Alberta Court of Justice in Sherwood Park on Nov. 27, 2024 and the youth is scheduled to appear in Alberta Court of Justice in Sherwood Park on Nov. 26, 2024.
