Strathcona County RCMP Arrest Suspect For Fraud

Strathcona County, Alta. – On April 19, 2025, Strathcona County RCMP received a fraud complaint from a local vehicle dealership and the Strathcona County RCMP General Investigation Unit took carriage of the investigation.

Through investigation, the suspect was identified to be fraudulently attempting to purchase a vehicle worth an approximate value of $64,000. The suspect was arrested.

Perry John Fotty (40), a resident of Edmonton was charged with:

  • Fraud
  • Trafficking identity information (identity theft) x2
  • Use forged document

Fotty was held for a Judicial interim release hearing and remanded in custody and is scheduled to appear in the Alberta Court of Justice in Sherwood Park on April 30, 2025.
