Strathcona County RCMP arrest male for break and enter

Strathcona County, Alta. - On Mar. 22, 2025, Strathcona County RCMP responded to an alarm at a business on Buckingham Drive in Sherwood Park. Upon arrival, officers determined that the business had been broken into and that a laptop and tools were stolen.

On the same date RCMP responded to an additional three break and enters in the same industrial area of Sherwood Park. Through the course of the investigation, police identified a truck believed to be involved in all four incidents. The vehicle was confirmed to have been stolen from the Edmonton International Airport.

With the assistance of the Edmonton Police Service (EPS), the stolen truck was located and a lone occupant was taken into custody. Investigators determined that the individual was responsible for the series of break and enters.

Cody Spooney (29), a resident of Edmonton has been charged with break and enter.

Cody was brought before a Justice of the Peace, where he was remanded with a court date of May 28, 2025, at the Alberta Court of Justice in Sherwood Park.
